How to use this test
Press Start Microphone Test and choose Allow when your browser asks for microphone access. Speak naturally from the distance you normally use during calls. The level meter should rise with your voice and fall when the room is quiet. The microphone label, when available, helps you confirm that the expected input is selected.
The meter shows relative signal activity, not calibrated loudness or a recording-quality score. Silence or a low reading can mean the microphone is muted, too far away, or not selected as the default input. This tool does not play your voice back, preventing feedback. Press Stop Test when finished; leaving the page or hiding the tab also releases the stream.

Is my voice recorded or uploaded?
No. The Web Audio API analyzes the live signal locally. No audio recording is created or uploaded.
Why is the meter flat?
Check mute settings and input selection, speak closer to the microphone, and try another app to confirm that the input works.
